RD Instruments ( www.rdinstruments.com ) is one of the major equipment providers for current observations, as well as wave observations and others. The most widely known products are the original “ADCP” and the lighter “Workhorse”, both of which produce similar output.
The DQ Framework has been applied to the RDI ADCP/Workhorse configured with 4 upwards looking beams measuring beam velocities.
The DQ Framework/DataProvider is applied to the standard RDI PD0 format, which according to the public RDI information provides the most information possible, including metadata, and diagnostic information. Operations performed by the DataProvider include error velocity check, range check, outlier detection (linear regression), and an extended check based on the correlation analysis performed by the instrument. These checks are applied to the raw data (i.e.: before coordinate transformation). After checking these basic elements, the data are transformed to “earth coordinates”, based on the data which passed the checks.
The DQ Framework/Qualifier view is customized to include a synchronized set of the data, such as beam velocities, beam correlations, transformed velocities, and echo intensities. Manual editing/flagging is featured.
The DQ Framework/Export is customized to export data in Nordic WOCE format.
The DQ Framework/Report is customized to the existing “Havstovan” report for testing purposes.
