Datawell ( www.datawell.nl ) is one of the major wave observation equipment providers. The most widely known product is the “Waverider”.
The DQ Framework has been applied to the Directional Waverider (Mark II) using a Warec receiver and the 3DWarec software, provided by Datawell. Data from an internal data logger (*.spc format) is also supported.
The DQ Framework/DataProvider is customized to read *.raw, *.wav, and *.spt files, including the raw data, the zero-crossing analysed data, and the spectral data. The DataProvider also calculates a vectorized mean direction based on the directional spectral data, weighted mean spread, weighted mean kurtosis, and weighted mean skewness (spectral density as weight). The *.spc format including spectral information as well as system information is read by a separate data provider. Data are treated similar to the *.spt spectral data.
The DQ Framework/Qualifier view is customized to include a synchronized set of all parameters of all dimensions, as well as a table view of selected parameters within a specified range from where a cursor points to.
The DQ Framework/Operations include range norms applied to a number of parameters, a time-deviation norm applied to Hs (significant waveheight), a datarelation norm applied to Tp|Tz, a ‘staircase’ norm applied to the battery, and a ‘smooth-variation’ norm applied to the sea temperature.
